Dance Schedule for October 2008

Dances start promptly at 8:30 pm and end at 11:30 pm. Admission is $9. A contra dance lesson for beginners is given every Friday starting at 7:30 pm and is included in the price of admission.

October 3 -- Jack Mitchell calls to New Hip Trio. The Trio is Joe De Zarn on fiddle, Liz Donaldson on piano, and Ralph Gordon on bass.

October 10 -- Anna Rain with the fabulous Glen Echo Open Band.

October 17 -- Gaye Fifer calls to Avant Gardeners, featuring Laura Light on fiddle, George Paul on piano, and a bunch of other great musicians. The deep grooves of the band's mixture of traditional and composed tunes have contributed to the delirium of dancers at countless dances and concerts from coast to coast.

October 24 -- Adina Gordon with Tribal Tune Twisters: David DiGiuseppe on accordion, mandolin, and washboard, Roger Gold on guitar, and Jim Roberts.

October 31 -- Ted Hodapp appears with Floor Play. Based in Charlottesville, Floorplay is comprised of Paul Rosen (mandolin, fiddle, accordion), Rya Martin (piano), and Aaron Lamb (drums, percussion). The band plays an eclectic mix of French Canadian, Old-time, Klezmer, Swing, and original tunes. This is also a fundraiser for Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture and admission will be $10 for the dance. Our Annual Costume Halloween Dance!!!! Wear your best costume to be eligible to win a prize!
