Dance Schedule for October 2005

Dances start promptly at 8:30pm and end at 11:30pm. Admission is $8. A contra dance lesson for beginners is given every Friday starting at 7:30pm and is included in the price of admission.

October 7 - Susan Taylor calls to Honeysuckle Rose ń (Liz Donaldson (piano), Andrea Hoag (fiddle), Paul Oorts (banjo, guitar, mandolin)) -- sweet-playing multi-genre long-time Glen Echo faves.

October 14 - Bob Hofkin calls to the the fabulous Glen Echo Open Band.

October 21 - Sue Rosen (from Massachusetts) calls to Phantom Power (Lissa Schneckenburger (fiddle), Bruce Rosen (piano);, a high-energy band from Boston, that plays traditional New England fiddle tunes adapted to today's dancers. Lissa is a super fiddler and has played the Friday Night Dance in the past (with Larry Unger) to great acclaim. Phantom Power never fails to energize and excite its audiences.

October 28- Halloween Park Fundraiser ($10)óCostume Suggested! Laura Brown calls to Crowfoot (Adam Broome (guitar, bouzouki), Jaige Trudel (fiddle), and Nicholas Williams (flute, accordion, piano);, a hot dance band that has been generating great exitement among contra dancers throughout the Northeast. They combine diverse musical backgrounds and skills to create a dynamic high energy sound.
